Wilco Helps Plant Seeds for Sustainable Agriculture

Profits from poster sales at Wilco’s October 2, 2009 show at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul, Minnesota help provide opportunities for new and transitioning farmers to learn about sustainable farming methods through hands on training, thanks to the Land Stewardship Project.
Per Bobby King, LSP’s Policy Program Organizer: “Since 1982 the Land Stewardship Project has been working to promote strong rural communities and a family farm based system of sustainable agriculture. LSP is working effectively to transform our food system to one that is environmentally sound, socially just and profitable to farmers. Wilco’s support will be used to in initiatives such as LSP’s Farm Beginnings program that is helping to establish the next generation of sustainable farmers on the land in the Upper Midwest and across the country. These farmers are helping to create a food and farming system that is good for local economies and fair for all.”
