Wilco recently made a year-end contribution to Chicago’s Inspiration Corporation in support of their Engagement Center. According to director John Pfeiffer, “The Center makes a great difference to people who have nowhere to go during the day on weekends, when other agencies are closed. At Inspiration Corporation’s Engagement Center in Uptown, homeless and low-income people can come in to escape the weather or enjoy a cup of coffee in a safe, respectful environment. Visitors can sign up to use the washing machines for their laundry or to take a shower. Bagged lunches and hot drinks are also available.” Occasional programming includes health screenings and guest speakers from other agencies.
